Following “Die Tüten aus der Verwaltung”, Theater Thikwa and glanz&krawall turn their attention to another German horror story: pensions. But instead of turning pale with fear and chucking the terrifying letter with their annual retirement statement into the trash, they gather all their courage to face the misery head-on.

“Nix gibt’s!” – “You're Getting Squat!” – is the title of their grand pension revue, which brings this terrible tale to the stage, inspired by Erwin Piscator's epic historical-political spectacles. Delayed reforms, the looming threat of poverty in old age, losing one’s home – are these the prospects that await us all amidst demographic change? How does our pension system even work, and what would it take for it to offer better prospects for everyone in our society?

137 years of Germany’s statutory pension insurance system – that’s something that can only be tackled through the medium of a revue. Magic, tap dancing, verbal and vocal acrobatics, and of course, plenty of lovely legal clauses await you. Welcome to the Thikwastadt-Palast!
