Theater Thikwa and the performance collective Turbo Pascal explore fantasies of escape and staying in times of global crisis. Just leaving, emigrating, fleeing – to a place that climate change cannot affect, that will not be hit in the event of a nuclear strike, and where human dignity remains inviolable. Does such a place exist? And if so, who can go there? Performers and audience members fantasise about their own emigration stories, which may succeed or fail, and compare their legal, financial and physical possibilities. Between reality TV, green screen trips and real barriers, an interactive performance emerges about leaving – and about the question of what staying in solidarity might look like.

Should I Stay or Should I Go? [Workshop]

Between wanderlust, frustration, and fantasy, in this workshop accompanying UND TSCHÜSS! we explore our very own personal dreams of emigration. What does it mean to leave a homeland or to reinvent oneself?
In a mixed-abled team, we approach the themes of farewell and new beginnings through playful exercises, exchange, and improvisation. The workshop is led by Tobias Brunwinkel, Atalay Dogan, Olivia Lichwa, and Saskia Neuthe.

The workshop takes place on Friday, 27 February at 6 pm and on Sunday, 1 March at 2 pm. Combination tickets for the workshop and UND TSCHÜSS! can be purchased directly through our ticket sales. If you are interested in attending only the workshop, please send an email to kbb@thikwa.de. Participation in the workshop only costs €2/€4 (regular/reduced) and can be paid in cash on site.
